Description
A five-page set on the Robert Louis Stevenson poem. It works through word meanings drawn from the verse, including a-floating, foam, ashore, castles and a-boating, then opposites such as little and big, dark and golden, away and home, and down and up.
The rhyming section asks the child to find pairs directly in the poem, sand with hand, foam with home, mill with hill and more with ashore, and the last part has them write sentences using river, sand and boats.
Every page carries its own answer key, so a parent can correct the whole sheet in a few minutes.
