Description
A ten-page set on verbs. The child first circles the action word in each sentence, working with lines about listening to a song, hitting a baseball, a leaking roof, a doctor examining a patient, a bluebird singing and a chef cooking pasta.
The next part asks them to write their own sentence for run, jump, write, eat and sleep, underlining the verb they used. Later pages move on to linking verbs and how they join the subject to the rest of the sentence, which is a step beyond plain action words.
This version carries the questions only, with no answer key printed, so it can be handed out as a test or timed practice.
