Description
A five-page set that starts from the idea that a word is a group of letters with a meaning of its own. The first section is a picture-led unscramble round where the child rearranges jumbled letters to make words like apple, football, mango, pencil, milk and flower.
The second half sorts words into groups, asking the child to pick out naming words, then write five action words of their own and five describing words, which turns recognition into recall.
This version carries the questions only, with no answer key printed, so it can be handed out as a test or timed practice.
