Description
An eighteen-page set on telling common nouns from proper nouns. The child reads sentences and sorts the nouns into the right box, working with examples like the Taj Mahal, Mumbai, Panchatantra, Diwali, the Golden Temple, India Gate, the Himalayas and Jupiter set against everyday words such as brother, train, cat, sofa, bicycle, bag, car and notebook.
A later round asks the child to capitalise proper nouns inside sentences, which is the part most young writers get wrong, and the length makes this one suitable for practice spread over several days.
This version carries the questions only, with no answer key printed, so it can be handed out as a test or timed practice.
